The Mid Sussex RDA group aims to give disabled adults and children the opportunity to ride a horse or pony and thereby experience the joy, the feeling of independence and the therapeutic effects that this exciting, and often challenging, activity can provide. Mid Sussex is one of over 500 groups in the UK that belong to the National Riding for the Disabled Association.
The riding sessions take place on two mornings a week at Chestnuts Riding School in Pyecombe, just outside Brighton. Ponies and horses are provided by the riding school. The group is funded solely by donations or legacies and is run entirely by volunteers. Our riders require a lot of support and care and we are always looking for volunteers to help us. |
