Rider case study

"Thank you and the team for another great session......"

Mum comments,..."She’s enjoying her sessions immensely and now has a real bond with William the pony.  She’s learning so much, too, and I noticed how much her posture had strengthened this week during riding. This will benefit her as she's suspected of being hypermobile, so it takes her considerable resources to maintain her posture.  She benefits from understanding the importance of following rules while having so much fun and growing her confidence.

"We can see how much your heart goes into what you do and the connection and trust you have built with her."

Mum continues, "As you can imagine, having seen her difficulties in the first session, raising her has had many challenges along the way, but I had a quiet confidence she would find her flow with riding.

"What I didn't expect, though, was for me to benefit, too, but I'm finding it very therapeutic.  Being in the countryside, being able to delight in her progress and witness her growing skills and focus,  is very rewarding for me too, but knowing she's in the care of the RDA team, whilst watching her,  I have some time to take a step back.  I can watch her, but others are there teaching, meaning she and I have some important space between us for her to flourish.

"After riding,  she had a very relaxing afternoon doing a puzzle and  said, “Do you ever feel like the happiest you’ve ever felt in your whole life, but not quite as there’s more life to do? That's how I feel right now doing this puzzle!”

Riding this morning has contributed to her feeling so settled and content!
